With effect from 12 August 2020, RAL gGmbH in Bonn has joined the VDID e.V. Verband Deutscher Industrie Designer as a sustaining member. Especially with the business area RAL COLOURS, whose origins go back to the year 1927, this step brings RAL closer to a target group that has been using the RAL colour palettes and design tools extensively for many years.

Through the membership in the VDID e.V. RAL further expands its presence in its home market Germany and closes a gap in its consistent orientation towards a central customer group, says Markus Frentrop, Head of RAL COLOURS. "For us the cooperation in VDID e.V. means the reflection of an increasing importance of RAL COLOURS in design. At the same time we would like to further promote the attention for good colour design and support the integrated consideration of form, materiality and surfaces in design".
"Colours and dyes have always existed. Every culture has its own view on colours. This shapes our individual perception and is subject to change. Colour became colour, painting and colouring became coating and finally colour became the identity and corporate design of a company. Colour developed independently and became an essential design method in industrial design, says Stefan Eckstein, VDID President.
The VDID is happy about the supporting membership of RAL gGmbH, the professional and important partner for the design factor colour.
