Photocentric is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Ruscoe to the role of Business Development Director. With almost 30 years of industry experience across a wide variety of markets, Paul is well placed to support Photocentric’s growth in high volume production using additive manufacturing (AM). Paul will support customers with the best value proposition for their upcoming projects, using his commercial awareness of the economies of volume production, comprehensive understanding of optimising processes for mass manufacturing, and keen eye for quality standards.

Paul has provided a broad range of material and processing solutions whilst working with and for blue chip companies across automotive, oil & gas, industrial, medical and consumer goods verticals. His interest in AM began almost 20 years ago, where he first used AM processes to design and develop prototypes in the launch of his own Business to Business and Business to Consumer company. Paul realised the value that AM gave in producing prototypes for evaluation with consumer focus groups and the ability to iterate at speed.

Using AM, Paul invented a mass manufacturing tooling solution for the manufacture of elastomeric parts, negating the need for costly injection moulding tools. This was an essential aspect of launching products to consumers through e-commerce and high street retailers, without high capital expenditure. This experience gave Paul the interest to study a Master’s degree in Advanced Product Design, working alongside a number of product designers, engineers and design agencies. He also has an Honours degree in Polymer Science and Engineering.
