A very high visitor response, a wealth of world premieres and a variety of modern technologies, applications and materials: Formnext 2022 got off to an extremely successful start today and will continue to present the world's elite in additive manufacturing in Frankfurt am Main until 18 November 2022.

It also offers a supporting programme full of highlights along the entire process chain. With over 800 exhibitors and 4 hall levels, the eighth Formnext can clearly surpass last year's edition and will make the trade fair metropolis on the Main the global centre of innovative production solutions for four days.

The world's elite in additive manufacturing will be represented in Frankfurt with leading international companies such as 3D Systems, Additive Industries, AddUp, Arburg, BigRep, Carbon, Desktop Metal, DMG Mori, Dyemansion, EOS, Farsoon, Formlabs, GE Additive, HP, Keyence, Markforged, Materialise, Renishaw, Ricoh, Siemens, Sisma, SLM Solutions, Stratasys, Trumpf, Voxeljet, XJet and Zeiss. In addition, numerous well-known international groups will be showing their solutions along the entire process chain, including BASF, Covestro, Evonik, GKN Sinter Metals Components, Henkel, Höganäs, Linde, Mitsubishi Chemical, Nikon, Oerlikon, Sandvik, SMS Group and many more. The numerous world premieres and innovative developments include new AM technologies, new and improved AM systems, as well as new materials from wood to ceramics, software solutions, service offerings and post-processing solutions.

With a highly exciting supporting programme, Formnext was also able to achieve an excellent visitor response on the first day of the fair, which the exhibitors were also enthusiastic about. Participants benefit from the significantly expanded AM4U area and a diverse mix of topics ranging from start-ups and investments, construction and architecture to decentralised manufacturing, the partner country France and AM in training and careers. Innovative thought leaders, recognised experts and leaders of international companies will speak on all topics. The AM4U Area programme will be rounded off with a "Deep Thought presented by ACAM, Formnext and VDMA AG AM" and a panel on the use of AM in ceramic applications.

Special shows, symposia and other events
In addition, the supporting programme of Formnext, which is more extensive than ever before, with numerous special shows, symposia and other events, gives visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in different areas of additive manufacturing and in various application industries and to discuss the latest developments. The BE-AM special show, for example, will use real applications to demonstrate the rapid development of 3D printing in the construction industry. At the same time, background information and future developments in this field will be discussed at the BE-AM Symposium (16 November). Anyone interested in additive applications in mechanical engineering will get their money's worth at the VDMA special show and gain valuable insights here.

In addition, with the EEN Matchmaking Event, Formnext 2022 offers the opportunity to find suitable business partners in a focused and efficient manner. The important topic of skilled workers and careers will not be neglected either: at the Career Day (17.11.), visitors can find out about the diverse career opportunities in the AM industry or have the right application photos taken by a photographer.
Incidentally, the supporting programme of Formnext 2022 kicked off with the renowned ASTM Standards Forum and the new event "Wohlers Report LIVE at Formnext 2022", both of which concluded very successfully one day before the official start of the trade fair today.

"Visitors will find a host of world firsts and the who's who of additive manufacturing at Formnext 2022. In particular, this year's show demonstrates how intensively AM is now being used in the most demanding, industrial applications," says Sascha F. Wenzler, Division Manager Formnext, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. "Everyone, from AM professionals to beginners, should come to Frankfurt until Friday and benefit from this unique platform to gather information, deepen knowledge and expand their network."
All content from the AM4U stage as well as impressions, voices and much more from Formnext will also be streamed by Formnext.TV via Youtube. Formnext visitors, but also digital viewers, can thus follow the experts and events live on screen and even ask their questions to the speakers.
