Sandvik continues to expand their additive offering through introducing 3D printed cemented carbide – with superior wear-resistant properties. This is enabled by a unique powder, crafted through a patented process developed by the company’s leading experts along the additive value chain.

Along with their partners in the Vinnova funded AMCO project, Sandvik is releasing a report aiming to increase the understanding of corrosion mechanisms and -properties of additively manufactured stainless steels (AMSS). This facilitates safe implementation of 3D printed AMSS components in industries operating in demanding environments – for instance the offshore and marine segments, where Sandvik’s flagship alloy Osprey® 2507 is widely used.

Carbon, a leader in 3D printing technology, today announced that its platform for bioresorbable elastomers, currently in development, has proven its biocompatibility in vivo[1]. All samples were found to be non-toxic and have a controllable absorption time. This latest milestone demonstrates the potential of the elastomer for the development of biomedical mesh applications such as soft tissue repair, wound dressings and nerve conduits.

Elkem Silicones will showcase its latest product innovation, enlarging its portfolio of silicone solutions of the AMSil™ and AMSil™ Silbione™ ranges for Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, at the upcoming Formnext show in Frankfurt Germany from November 15th to 18th 2022.

Global Inkjet Systems Ltd (GIS), a Nano-Dimension division, has expanded its support of Epson Precision Core printheads to offer flexible drive electronics and software for the full Epson S800 series (U1, U3, A1 and S1) via the GIS Ethernet platform. GIS has developed this additional printhead capability to provide system integrators and OEMs with even greater industrial print system development opportunities, including direct-to-shape and materials deposition markets.
