Siemens Digital Industries Software introduces the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Path Optimizer. The AM Path Optimizer is a beta technology integrated into the NX™ software. It is designed to help customers solve overheating problems, reduce waste and increase production performance. In this way, the industrialization of AM or the use of AM on an industrial scale is achieved. Siemens has developed this next-generation advanced simulation technology to maximize the production yields and quality of components produced by powder bed melting. This latest addition to Siemens' end-to-end additive manufacturing solution feeds the digital thread. This documents every step of the entire additive manufacturing process.

voxeljet AG (NYSE: VJET) (the “Company”, or “voxeljet”), a leading OEM and provider of high-speed, large-format 3D printers and on-demand parts services to industrial and commercial customers, today announced a new research and development partnership with Creavis- the strategic innovation unit of Evonik Industries, to develop new material systems for series production of plastic components using 3D printing.

On November 15 Arkema inaugurated, in the presence of Thierry Le Hénaff, the Group’s Chairman and CEO, and Hervé Morin, President of the Normandy Region, a new Global Center of Excellence for 3D Printing within its Cerdato Research & Development Center in Serquigny, Normandy (France). Arkema and the Normandy Region intend this new center of excellence dedicated to additive manufacturing based on high-performance polymers, to be of benefit to companies and training organizations in the region, as part of a collaborative initiative striving for swift adoption of these new production methods.

Since the announcement of their collaboration in February 2019, Henkel and Origin have been collaborating to develop new materials by optimizing print processes that extend the current boundaries of additive manufacturing. As a result of this partnership Henkel has developed an entirely new 3D printable photopolymer material with fire, smoke and toxicity resistance properties for use with Origin One printers.

Manufacturing and technology specialist Ricoh and 3D material solutions innovator TIGER have announced a landmark partnership to bring to market thermoset materials for selective laser sintering. The partnership combines TIGER’s specialist portfolio, which includes TIGITAL Inks and Drylac® & Wetlac® surface coatings, with Ricoh’s hardware expertise to provide an end-to-end Additive Manufacturing (AM) service.
