From the outset of metal additive manufacturing (AM) in the 1990s, its potential within countless industries was readily apparent. Over the course of 30 years, however, we have only witnessed a handful of cases where companies successfully transitioned AM parts into full production. Despite the benefits of performance and supply chain flexibility, metal AM has remained primarily for prototyping.

Dassault Systèmes has revealed the winners of the “3D Design Challenge,” which invited individuals to showcase their 3D skills by using Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA, SOLIDWORKS or xDesign applications to accurately create a 3D working model of an invention from Leonardo da Vinci’s codices, in real-life dimensions.
COBOD continues to expand by selling its BOD 2 printers and printing complex buildings and wind turbine towers worldwide. Printed Farms, a company located in Wellington, FL, partnered with COBOD to advance the construction of buildings in Florida. With the BOD 2, Printed Farms plans to create more sustainable buildings in Florida and build more hurricane and flood-resistant buildings.
President Joe Biden hosted the Climate Summit in April, and GE, one of COBOD’s partners, presented their work in front of President Biden and other leaders from 16 different countries. Danielle Merfeld, GE Renewable Energy CTO adressed the Leaders Summit on Climate organized by the White House.
EsPlásticos, the community platform of the Spanish plastics value chain, together with the Mayor of Madrid and other high-ranking politicians, opened the world's first 100% recyclable plastic museum.
