Aerosint is a company founded in 2016 by Edouard Moens de Hase, Matthias Hick and the start-up studio MAKE.IT GROUP.

The ambition of the start-up was to develop a powder recoater that would allow multi-material Additive Manufacturing. This patented technology was called “Selective Powder Deposition” and is today implemented in a number of commercial 3D printers.

In 2021, Aerosint was acquired by the American technology company Desktop Metal (NYSE: DM) that designs and markets 3D printing systems. In October 2023 the company was taken over by Schaeffler Special Machinery.
