Companies scale production capabilities and speed of additive manufacturing with electrophotographic technology
Today Eastman Kodak and Evolve Additive Solutions, Inc. announced a technology partnership where Kodak will supply Evolve imaging systems, parts and consumables based on the KODAK NEXPRESS digital electrophotographic platform. In addition, the companies have signed Joint Development Agreements for equipment and materials with the goal of helping further develop Evolve’s Selective Thermoplastic Electrophotographic Process (STEP) technology in anticipation of the commercial release in 2020. STEP is Evolve’s proprietary 3D printing technology for additive manufacturing. Kodak has also licensed relevant intellectual property to Evolve in support of the development effort.
Benefits offered by 3D printing technology such as minimization of errors, reduction in development cost & time, and ability to provide customized products coupled with technological advancements in the automotive industry are expected to boost the growth of the global 3D printing market
Even in its fourth year, Formnext is setting new and impressive records. On an exhibition area of more than 36,000 square meters, 550 exhibitors will present numerous innovations, world firsts, and trailblazing industrial applications. This will make Formnext - being held from November 13 to 16, 2018 - the international guiding star for additive manufacturing and modern industrial manufacturing methods.
New exhibitors from 26 nations generate significant growth
In 2018, Formnext is continuing to show its best side: already 10 weeks before the exhibition opens its doors, the two levels of exhibition Hall 3 with 550 expected exhibitors and an exhibition space of 36,000 square meters is full to capacity. The leading exhibition for additive manufacturing and cutting-edge production techniques has recorded significant growth in terms of number of exhibitors and exhibition space. In addition, Formnext is using the space next to Hall 3 for supporting events. For instance, Saal Europa in Hall 4 is hosting the TCT Conference @ Formnext.
