At the 10th Aviation Forum, TÜV SÜD will present comprehensive services in the fields of additive manufacturing, certification, environmental testing and non-destructive testing. In addition, additive manufacturing expert Gregor Reischle will be represented in the Tech Talks of the conference programme with his presentation "Digital part approval of 3D printed components enabled by advanced manufacturing solutions". Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the international trade fair for the aviation industry will take place exclusively online from 17th to 18th November.

As an independent testing and certification organization, TÜV SÜD supports the aerospace industry in ensuring the highest quality and safety standards throughout its operations. This applies to machinery and production processes as well as to the security of buildings, infrastructures and data centres. By testing products and certifying quality management systems, TÜV SÜD enables aerospace companies to access global markets. As one of the leading providers of qualifications and training in quality management, TÜV SÜD also empowers manufacturers' most important resource: their employees. TÜV SÜD's highly secure cloud storage solutions and cyber security services reduce risks and create trust for institutions and companies worldwide.

Secure 3D printing for the aerospace industry

"Investments in future innovations are the key to the aviation industry's ability to master the challenges of the crisis", says Gregor Reischle, Head of Additive Manufacturing (AM) at TÜV SÜD Product Service. This includes, for example, additive manufacturing processes that achieve an industrial quality management level. TÜV SÜD advises on the entire AM manufacturing process and helps to qualify suppliers. With reliable, reproducible product quality, 3D printing is also an important step in the aerospace industry to reduce development costs and advance the economic and ecological transformation. "The depth of the TÜV SÜD-AM certification programme makes the difference and saves costs in the approval process", says Reischle.
Certified quality management and sustainability

TÜV SÜD certifies operational quality management in accordance with international aerospace standards to EN 9100, and also offers ISO 27001 (Information Security Management Systems) certification, which is essential for qualification in the aerospace supply chain. For the testing and certification of products and systems - such as environmental tests in accordance with RTCA DO-160 and EMF/EMC tests - TÜV SÜD has locations in England, Europe and the USA as well as a new, state-of-the-art NADCAP-certified test laboratory in Volpiano (Italy). There, destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT) of batteries and fuel cells, additive manufactured parts and raw materials, among others, is possible.

Other services include industry 4.0 assessments, occupational safety and risk assessments in accordance with the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) and sustainability certifications.
