Ricoh's proprietary solution leverages the company's leading expertise in inkjet printheads to produce aluminium parts with complex shapes quickly and, most importantly, stably.

Ricoh Company, Ltd. and Ricoh UK Products Ltd. will unveil a new metal binder jetting technology at Formnext 2021, which will be held at Messe Frankfurt from 16 to 19 November 2021. This technology, developed specifically for aluminium alloys, is designed to help enable the production of end-user metal parts using 3D printing. Aluminium alloys are already widely used for metal parts. The solution developed by Ricoh creates a controlled production environment with the unique ability to produce aluminium parts not only in intricate shapes, but also in the form of narrow tubes.

Ricoh's new metal binder jet technology for producing innovative aluminium parts

contributes to weight reduction and improved heat dissipation of metal parts by realising shapes that cannot be produced with existing processing technologies.
saves time and resources due to its high productivity and ability to reuse unused materials.
is based on Ricoh's industrial inkjet print head technology, developed over many years, enables stable production of parts with complex shapes.
is suitable for processing aluminium alloys, which are commonly used as metal parts.
Formnext is the world's leading trade fair for manufacturing and processing technologies in the field of next-generation additive manufacturing and smart industrial production. The show will feature technologies, products and services from around the world, including industrial 3D printing, which is becoming increasingly popular in many sectors including automotive, aerospace, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and healthcare. Through co-creation activities with customers, Ricoh is developing a metal 3D printing technology that can produce innovative aluminium parts. This will enable the production of end-use metal parts that can replace heat dissipating components.

Visitors to the Ricoh stand (Hall 11.0; Stand C51) at Formnext will be able to experience aluminium parts produced using Ricoh's metal binder jet technology and interact with the team behind this exciting new technology.
