Wow, what a news at the beginning of the year! We presented our new machine generation. With the arc80X you now have the ability to print metal components up to 2 x 2 x 2 meters in size. Kingsbury has just purchased the first machine of the new generation for the application center of its subsidiary Additure.

Kingsbury has been our sales partner for the UK market for 5 years. We therefore have a close partnership. Two years ago, Additure was founded, which focuses exclusively on additive manufacturing methods. An arc405 is already in use at Additure's application center and the new arc80X will also be moving in. In addition to contract manufacturing, feasibility studies are also carried out at the Preston site.

“With continued demand in the defense, power generation and aerospace sectors and the amount of orders we have had to turn down, the decision to purchase a second GEFERTEC machine was an easy one. The arc80X not only provides us with much needed additional capacity, but also offers a significantly larger build envelope,” says Richard Kingsbury, Managing Director of the company. “We are able to print much larger parts, which significantly increases our value and relevance to these important sectors.”

With the arc80X, we enable unmanned serial production of your components - as simple as ABC. Siemens Energy demonstrated last year that serial production using wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) makes sense. The 1000th turbine blade was printed in the fall of 2023. This video shows the path from supply chain crisis to success story.

Crafting steam turbines demands high quality, especially for guide vanes at Siemens Energy. In 2018, a supplier delay triggered a crisis, pushing delivery beyond turbine completion. This resulted in a rethink towards additive manufacturing, especially in the WAAM technology. The immediate availability of parts and the newfound independence from traditional supply chains marked a significant shift in strategy. Siemens Energy became the first company in the world to use the WAAM process in series production – with our arc machine series.

Speaking of serial production - a very special highlight awaits you in June. Together with Starrag, we invite you to the Technology Days in Rorschacherberg, Switzerland, on June 18 and 19. Immerse yourself in the future of manufacturing with high-precision 5-axis milling, fully automated processes and advanced digitalization. With state-of-the-art scanning and measuring technology as well as innovative new technologies, we set new standards for your production.

This event closes the gap between WAAM and post-processing. Starrag's high-precision milling machines open up new possibilities. Experience how machining processes can be significantly optimized through holistically thought-out, perfectly coordinated manufacturing strategies at this 2-day event. Although the main theme of the event is aviation and turbines, it is attractive to anyone interested in the above-mentioned topics relating to automated and high-precision machining.

Another highlight will be various stations where you can delve even deeper into the individual technologies. A keynote speech by our expert Sebastian Recke awaits you on June 19. Take the opportunity to get directly involved in unmanned serial production.
