With the latest version of the 4D_Additive software, CoreTechnologie presents a completely new batchesting tool at the Formnext trade fair.

The software company CoreTechnologie GmbH (CT) will be presenting the latest version of the renowned 4D_Additive software at the Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt, Hall 12.0, Stand D81, from November 19 to 22, 2019. The enhanced version includes an innovative batchesting tool.

Using the new function, the CAD models stored in the system's own database are ordered as in a web shop and automatically sent to the printer. The arrangement and orientation of the components, the so-called nesting, takes place automatically and does not require any 3D printing know-how on the part of the user. This significantly simplifies and accelerates the previously time-consuming manual process of machine loading. The system is integrated into the so-called part finder, which makes it possible to find and sort suitable parts for specific processes and machines.

Optimum result at minimum cost

The intelligent nesting functions with multiprocessor calculation ensure reliable and fast automatic filling as well as optimum utilization of the construction volume and 100% collision safety. Functions are available for the fully automatic orientation of the parts on the construction platform, which consider criteria such as best possible surface, minimum costs and space requirements as well as minimum volume of the support geometry as priorities. Then the iterative calculation of the alignment takes place within seconds. Especially for powder bed processes such as HP Jet Fusion, batch nesting offers a great benefit, since the time saved due to the elimination of time-consuming manual activities has a positive effect on the component price as well as on throughput time. The user can select and define the number of desired components in the web interface. Afterwards, the component volume is automatically filled so that an optimized number of components can be accommodated on the platforms. The relative density of a given installation space can also be predefined in favor of meaningful heat management for the various machines in order to optimize component quality and costs at the same time.

Additive manufacturing of the future

Another special feature of the trendsetting 4D_Additive software suite is the processing of CAD data from all common systems such as Catia, NX, Solidworks, Creo, Inventor, STEP or JT exact B-Rep geometry. The robust B-Rep geometry core of the software enables the inspection, repair and preparation of exact 3D models according to CAD engineering standards.

The subject of additive manufacturing is developing with rapid growth figures. An economically advantageous production for plastic parts of small series is already realistic. In order to meet the increased requirements of additive manufacturing and a growing demand for automated workflows, CoreTechnologie, the innovation forge, has developed the 4D_Additive Manufacturing Software Suite.
