Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE Lab, together with start-ups and manufacturers, has launched several initiatives aimed at quickly answering pressing questions about the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiatives leverage the collaborative and swarm intelligence approach of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to quickly identify, qualify, design and manufacture solutions. These solutions are designed to solve current challenges and provide targeted support to hospitals. The initiatives include:

- Accelerated start-up program through Data Intelligence
- Simplified innovation to reduce production complexity and costs
- Worldwide open design
- Networking people, projects and production

Accelerated Start-up Program through Data Intelligence: A 3DEXEPRIENCE Lab committee was established in record time to validate start-ups worldwide for an accelerated program to develop solutions to combat COVID-19. Start-ups were identified through Data Intelligence dashboards on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and the Incubator partner network. The selected innovators will be given access to engineering applications for collaboration on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, production marketplace services and mentoring from Dassault Systèmes experts and the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab community - all with the goal of developing solutions as quickly as possible.

Simplify innovation to reduce production complexity and costs: Engineers, designers, manufacturers, scientists, doers and visionaries from the USA, UK, India, France and the Netherlands - and soon other countries - are already using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The aim is to find solutions together to solve the critical challenges of the current health crisis. These include, for example, the production of spare parts from the 3D printer or accelerated provision of masks and ventilators for local hospitals. Design projects will be made available as 3D models on the platform. This allows industry experts, healthcare professionals and medical scientists to evaluate them.

Global open design: Dassault Systèmes sponsors open competitions worldwide and also supports designers and engineers through the SOLIDWORKS xDesign online environment to develop solutions faster. Experts from SIMULIA applications work with scientists to simulate their projects, such as ventilators or masks, and test their efficiency. The first competitions supported by Dassault Systèmes are the OpenSource Fan and the Montreal Code Life Challenges.

Networking people, projects and production: The 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides global mapping of hospitals, factories and manufacturing labs (FabLabs) to network people and projects with local production sites. With access to the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace, virtual production management and collaboration between designers, engineers and manufacturers can be achieved for accelerated production of design concepts for local hospitals.
