The program’s aim is to keep abreast of technological progress worldwide in the construction industry, and to promote the adoption of innovative techniques and the Saudization of the industry in the Kingdom.

Wilson Tool International is introducing a line of oil reservoirs made for the QuickTap™ tapping tool that are developed using Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. These parts were previously made with cold-rolled steel that carried high costs and long lead times. EOS, the world's leading technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers, has reached agreement with Visser Precision to significantly increase their metal additive manufacturing (AM) capacity with the purchase of three (3) EOS M 400-4 systems and two (2) of the recently unveiled EOS M 300-4 systems. Terms were reached during the International Machine Tool Show (IMTS) 2018 trade fair and with the acquisition of the EOS M 300-4 systems, Visser Precision becomes the first organization to purchase the new platform.

Raises productivity in wide range of applications, including part manufacturing and build-up repair

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it has developed a unique dot forming technology that realizes high-precision shaping by combining laser, computer numerical control (CNC) and computer aided manufacturing CAM technologies in 3D printers. The technology produces high-quality three-dimensional (3D) parts with few voids at high speed, employing a laser wire directed-energy deposition (DED) method, which is an additive-manufacturing process that uses focused thermal energy to fuse materials as they are deposited. Mitsubishi Electric believes that its new technology will raise productivity in a wide range of applications, such as the "near-net" (near-final) shaping of aircraft and automobile parts and build-up repairs.

In order to promote the use of additive manufacturing in the construction industry as well, Formnext and the Technical University (TU) Darmstadt have agreed on a joint venture. This means that in the next few years the construction industry will become a stronger theme of the leading international trade fair for additive manufacturing and the next generation of industrial production.
