The bow of the luxury yacht KISMET is now adorned with a massive majestic jaguar, good for scaring off any maritime threats. Materialise was delighted to help make this yacht owner's dream come true by assisting with software solutions and Additive Manufacturing expertise which made it possible to 3D print this adventurous predator. Without a wide range of integrated software solutions, this challenging project would never have materialized!

The exhibition Domestic Futures is a link between current everyday life and possible scenarios in an impending future. The exhibition contains three living environments we are familiar with at first sight, in order to physically bridge the distance to the future: a "bio-tech" kitchen, an "autarky" greenhouse in a garden and an "interstellar" campsite. They imagine our daily domestic life in 5, 10 or 50 years.

Rijksmuseum Twenthe and Museum de Fundatie, Netherlands

Museum de Fundatie and Rijksmuseum Twenthe are showing a double exhibition entitled Danger & Beauty – Turner and the Tradition of the Sublime in conjunction with Tate Britain. It presents around 50 paintings and watercolours by Turner in the context of European art history from the late Middle Ages to the present.

Source3™, the platform for licensing and distribution of 3D content, today announced a licensing agreement with Capcom® to provide 3D printed versions of the cover art for Capcom's much anticipated Street Fighter V video game, scheduled for release in March 2016.

The Belgian company Alterface creates and develops interactive cinemas and Dark Rides with 2D and 3D images, special effects, moving seats and shooting systems. With some 60 active attractions throughout the entire world, Alterface is one of the largest names in its sector. For the production of masters and prototypes, Alterface relies on an MDX-40A milling machine from Roland DG. For them the flexibility, speed and cost-savings are the greatest advantages.

ILLUMINATING BONO

In April 2009, Tommy Voeten, President of 1212-Studio, was asked to help illuminate the fabric roof of the stages for rock band U2's upcoming international 360 Tour. The roof would become part of the famous LED video screen for the band. New York City-based 1212-Studio, Inc. is an award-winning product design company, specializing in custom design and innovation of LED illumination products for the architectural and entertainment markets. It was a perfect fit for the project.
